H-C Travel sponsors ‘12in6’ charity motorcycle ride and Riders for Health

Many of you will have heard of the charity Riders for Health. This is a UK organisation operating in six African countries providing motorcycles and a logistical support infrastructure to health workers. Their work enables basic health care to reach communities that have been difficult (or impossible) to get to in the past.

Riders for Health has been established for over twenty years and is currently running 1,274 vehicles. In 1996 it was registered as an independent NGO in the UK and the expert systems they developed for managing vehicles in difficult conditions are now used effectively across Africa.

A keen supporter of Riders for Health is motorcyclist John Hale who has organised a a charity motorcycle ride that he and three colleagues are undertaking in June this year, with the objective of raising £20k from sponsorship to build and equip a new workshop in Zimbabwe for the charity.

John and three of his colleagues will be riding through 12 countries in 6 days - some 3,000 miles! - and more information can be seen at www.12in6.org

In support of their initiative, H-C Travel is sponsoring their motorcycle travel insurance through our bespoke website at www.bikerstravelinsurance.co.uk

H-C Travel is also pleased to announce that with the launch of our bespoke motorcycle travel insurance website above, a donation will be given to Riders for Health for every policy taken out through the above website.

New Motorcycle Travel Insurance for independent travellers

Recent changes by the Financial Services Association (FSA) in travel insurance regulations mean that H-C Travel’s own travel insurance policy - that was previously only available to our own customers - is now available to independent travellers as well through our new web site for motorcycle travel insurance. For more information please click on www.bikerstravelinsurance.co.uk

David Grist, Director of H-C Travel says: ‘We are delighted that we are now able to sell our market-leading insurance to a wider range of motorcyclists, and have provided a straight forward and user-friendly website that offers competitive rates. This is another first for H-C Travel, and we know that this is a service that is much needed. If customers want to discuss their travel insurance over the telephone or in person, then this is also available.’

www.bikerstravelinsurance.co.uk is unique in the UK because it is set up by a motorcycle tour operator and not an insurance company, which means that bikers’ needs are understood and covered.
